My School Year Session begins on Monday August 11th. I'll be contacting families regarding their school year lesson time today if I haven't already done so.

Lessons remain available both in person and online. Online lessons continue to be an asset when students are sick or have transportation issues.

You can make online tuition payments via PayPal from the "Click Here to Pay Online" button on your invoice, or via Zelle payable to Meredith Whelan LLC 530-412-2518.

Since the Halloween recital is just around the corner on October 26th, I thought I'd share one of my favorite passages from Practice Pie by Nicola Cantan.

"I'm not trying to say that a music student who doesn't practice won't make any progress at all or that a teacher will make them fell bad if they don't. But it's a lot more fun when you feel like you're getting somewhere. It's that forward momentum that will eventually cause your child to become self-motivated to practice and work hard at music even when it's difficult.

So the equation is not:

If my child enjoys music,

then they will practice.

It's:

If my child practices,

they're more likely to enjoy music"
